The Anguish and burden of the message
We've never met a Friday we didn't like.
You probably never met a Friday you liked very much
with all the groaning and anguish and dying there is to be done.
This day we remember and ask your mercy
upon all our brother and sister pastors
for whom Friday begins not a weekend
but one more time the anguish and burden of the message.
And when all the pastors of the Church stand face to face
the seduction and temptation of complacency
we pray for them, as for us, an unencumbered day
that they, and in their wake we,
may learn to speak more clearly
because we love you more dearly.
Amen.

To this my friends, I say 'Amen'.
